     Pediatric Radiology CasesHistory:

The child was born in another hospital. Even at the time of birth, a discolored right hand was noticed. In the doppler sonography, a decreased flow in the lower arm arteries were found. That is why a complete heparinization was started postnatally. After 5 days, the child was transferred to our institution. The tips of the fingers were mostly already mummified. In our hospital, we also noticed a thrombosis of the vena cava. The child was treated with heparin and protein C under the suspicion of a Protein C deficiency.

Pediatric Radiology CasesPathomorphology or Pathophysiology of this disease :

Prenatal thrombosis of the vena cava and embolism over the foramen ovale in the right lower arm.

     Pediatric Radiology CasesRadiological findings:

    MRI 1 <- view MRI 1

MRI 1: Bolus-MR-Angiography: Shown is the ulnar and radial arteris up to the hand. The interosseus artery (both posterior and anterior) is only shown partially. The superfical and deep palmar arch was demarcated. Shown are 3 branches, which can be partially followed to the thumb.
