Pediatric Radiology CasesCourse / Prognosis / Frequency / Other :

Treatment: closed reposition with complete piercing of the opposing corticalis.
Afterwards, elastic stable marrow splinting (ESMS) with intramedullary weight carriers (PREVOT-nails, 2.5 mm diameter).

Futher procedure: X-Ray follow up of the fracture about 4 weeks. After 3 months, renewed x-ray to confirm consolidation of the fracture, then removal of the osteosynthesizing material.

Pediatric Radiology CasesComments of the author about the case:

Careful: In case of the opposing corticalis would not be pierced, an iatrogenic piercing must occur, otherwise there will be a malgrowth of about 20-25%.
