     Pediatric Radiology CasesHistory:

12 year-old boy, who has been treated for one year for an osteosarcoma in the right tibia with lower leg resection and chemotherapy.

For 10 days, low fever (38"C), after a minor viral infection (according to the mother). At the moment, no cough, no pulmonary symptoms.

Pediatric Radiology CasesPathomorphology or Pathophysiology of this disease :

In an ostogenic sarcoma, lung metastases are common, particularly multiple metastases. Smaller metastases are often not able to be seen on X-ray; on CT they are certainly detectable at a size of 2-3 mm (in MRI larger than 5 mm).

     Pediatric Radiology CasesRadiological findings:

    X-Ray 1 <- view X-Ray 1

X-ray 1: Magnified p.a. view of the chest. A ca. 4 mm opacity projects over the right upper lung zones that could not be reproduced on the lateral view. No further opacities were seen.

    CT 1 <- view CT 1

CT 1: on this selected slice, there are at least 3 round nodules on the right and one small nodule on the left (arrows). Altogether, there were more than 30 tiny nodules found in all lobes of both lungs.
