    16 year-old girl with cystic fibrosis complained of stomach aches. Sonographically, a mass was found in the pelvis seen near the only kidney (left). No amenorrhea.  

     
     Pediatric Radiology CasesPathomorphology or Pathophysiology of this disease :

    Incomplete fusion of the distal segments of the mueller-duct. Often correlated with a transversal vaginal septum in the upper vaginal third.

    MRI 1 <- view MRI 1

    MRI 1: Transversal T2-weighted sequence: Shown are the 2 uterus bodies. Ovaries are normal.




    MRI 2 <- view MRI 2

    MRI 2: Coronal T2-weighted sequence: Shown are the 2 uterus bodies. One Darstellung von 2 Corpora uteri. One of the two vaginas is distended and is filled with hypointense blood in T2-weighted sequences. Ovaries are normal.




    MRI 3 <- view MRI 3

    MRI 3: Sagittal T2-weighted sequence: The vagina is filled with hypointense blood.




    MRI 4 <- view MRI 4

    MRI 4: Transversally T1-weighted sequence: One of the two vaginas is distended and is filled with hyperintense blood in T1-weighted sequences.
