Pediatric Radiology CasesPathomorphology or Pathophysiology of this disease :

After 4 weeks, the fracture line appears somewhat widened. This corresponds to marginal resorption zones along the fracture. Therefore, the diagnosis of an expanding fracture (e.g. 2nd to a growing arachnoidal cyst) cannot be solely made by the evidence of a slight widening of the fracture line! A bony callus formation is rarely seen in skull fractures.

     Pediatric Radiology CasesRadiological findings:

    X-Ray 1 <- view X-Ray 1

X-Ray 1: Left parietal, a soft linear opacity is seen, without branching and without marginal sclerosis. (Accessory sutures are not present here)

    X-Ray 2 <- view X-Ray 2

X-Ray 2: Follow-up after 4 weeks: Widening of the line.
