 | Course / Prognosis / Frequency / Other : | Treatment: closed reposition with complete piercing of the opposing corticalis. Afterwards, elastic stable marrow splinting (ESMS) with intramedullary weight carriers (PREVOT-nails, 2.5 mm diameter).
Futher procedure: X-Ray follow up of the fracture about 4 weeks. After 3 months, renewed x-ray to confirm consolidation of the fracture, then removal of the osteosynthesizing material. | |
 | Comments of the author about the case: | Careful: In case of the opposing corticalis would not be pierced, an iatrogenic piercing must occur, otherwise there will be a malgrowth of about 20-25%. | |
